Snezna Kerekovic


Snezna Kerekovic is the creator of Bellaboo – a youth girl brand incorporating website and natural skin care…..so far. Here’s the deal on Snezna:

“As a teen, I suffered from really bad skin. It affected me profoundly. It made me feel like a freak, ugly and somehow not as good as my clear-skinned sisters. It made me shy and withdrawn. I tried EVERYTHING to rid my face of this curse! I used every treatment under the sun. I squeezed and picked. I had regular facials. I wore pancake makeup in an effort to hide it. My search for a solution was relentless.

I hit my 20s and suddenly it all started to settle down. I then grew up to become a beauty editor whose job it was to try out all the new beauty booty, write about it, research the latest ingredients, and interview some of the world’s leading lights in the world of beauty.

What I realized was, had I known as a teen what I had learned working as a beauty editor I could have saved myself a lot of angst, money and my skin!

So, I may not have been able to help the 15-year-old me but I had a passion to help all the other girls that will inevitably go through what I did during puberty.

I decided to create skin care that was pure, simple and effective in helping teens get through those angst-ridden puberty years. I knew exactly what was needed – a simple 3 step system, zero harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances and colors, and designed to bring skin back to balance using tried and tested plants and flowers.

I also wanted to create a safe, friendly, fun space where we could inspire girls, champion their causes, share thoughts and help them through all the stuff that is so HUGE during the teen years. So, we created www.bellaboobabe.com as a platform for everything we represent and an inspirational, fun, learning space that will hopefully help girls through all the stuff that can affect self esteem, confidence and self image.

To help me in my quest, I created a brand ambassador – a funky, 18-something-year-old chick who would be the symbol of what Bellaboo represents – fun, funky, fashionable, unique, attention-seeker, and a girl who has a strong sense of self-belief and confidence. Better Bellaboo than a 40-something woman trying to get all that across!

To further help me get inside the heads of teen girls I recruited six teen girls to help me in this mission. They are known as the Bellaboo Crew and they are my daily access into the minds of teens. They have dictated the look and feel of this brand and give me their constant, very opinionated, thoughts on just what we need to be doing to really connect with teens. Without them this brand would not be what it is today and I am forever grateful to their incredible input!

At Bellaboo we speak, breathe, think, and are obsessive about all things teen girl related. We aim to make a difference and we are motivated by the daily contact we have with girls! “
