Doris Smeltzer is a career educator throughout the K-12 and adult education spectrum, with a focus on improving body image through a Health At Every Size® perspective. She is the President and Co-founder of Andrea’s Voice, a non-profit created in honor of her 19-year-old daughter Andrea who died after one year of bulimic behaviors. Its major mission is working toward the prevention of eating disorders. Doris holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology, is the author of Andrea’s Voice: Silenced by Bulimia, the Gürze Books’ “Advice for Parents” blog and co-author of Chapter 21 in the book, Treatment of Eating Disorders: Bridging the Gap Between Research and Practice, She is a member of the NEDA Network, AED, IAEDP, ASDAH, and Phi Delta Kappa (an educational fraternity) and is currently developing an educational DVD curriculum for the eating disorder field based on interviews from her Internet radio show, “Savor Yourself…beyond skin deep.”
