In last week’s post “Why Voting Matters for Girls…”, I discussed the importance of girls understanding the power of their voice in politics and mentioned that I would compile a list of resources that offer a selection of liberal (“left” or “democrat”), conservative (“right” or “republican”) and non-partisan (“in the middle”) news sources. Like everything in politics, the facts are less important than perception. While this list gives an overview of resources that have historically leaned to the “left” or to the “right” that is still, of course, a matter of opinion. In general, the list is meant to illustrate that there are political influences in almost everything we have contact with, and it is important to know these influences so you can increase your choices and become an empowered reader.
