If you are reading this you are probably active on the Internet. Inspirational quotes abound on social media. They are almost impossible to miss. Twitter offers a wide assortment. And there are sites totally dedicated to quotes.
These quotes can set you back on your recovery path. Here’s how. Think of the quote as an assignment from the healing universe to guide you to your recovery and then, follow the assignment with regular homework.
- Browse through quotations online or in a Bartlett’s Book of Quotations. Find one that touches your mind or heart or emotions in some way.
- Write it down.
- Close your eyes and let your imagination play with the message. Be attentive to any visualizations or memories that occur to you.
- Think and write down daily actions you can take to really make that message yours.
- Follow through by checking in on your actions at the end of the day.
- Once a week look at your relationships and activities to see how your homework is affecting your life.
