Meet Actress, Dancer and Model Sam Aotaki

Please tell us about yourself and what you do?

Hi! i am Sam Aotaki, I am currently 20 years old and I’m an actress, model and dancer

Can you tell us a bit about any upcoming projects that you are working on?

i have a couple music videos coming, I am actually directing one myself, i also have a movie that i will be filming in july, i am playing a very amazing supporting role! i will keep everyone updated about that later, i am also working on a vampire film, which is in pre-production

Do you find the pressures of being performer / artist significant with regard to feeling the need to have a “perfect” body? If so, how do you navigate through that terrain? How do you “not” judge yourself when others (critics, audience members, producers, etc.) “Judge” you based on outward measures?

Of course! Everyone says you have to be fit and look good and skinny blah blah blah, I have gotten many times that I’m “thick” but that’s just how my body was built, I just have an athletic body! For me personally I like being toned so it’s not that big of deal, I hate being too skinny though, I don’t think it looks good, I like how I have some curves! I was just born with this body so I can’t do anything about it. That’s all.

Who were the role models in your life?
My mom, that’s my biggest role model, she is very independent and made her own opportunities, she is very hard working and I look up to her every day.

What do you define as beautiful?
Hmm… I feel as though anyone is beautiful if their inner light is shown,

How do you define inner beauty?
Inner beauty is loving yourself first. To accept your strengths and faults, to treat people how you would like to be treated, let your inner light shine through to the world and it brighten other people as well

What is happiness?
When you feel content with life and take everything as an experience

Would you be willing to take the Real Deal pledge? Thoughts about that?
I love the real deal pledge, I really do live my life like this so I relate to this a lot, I really feel people should take this pledge and their lives will start to brighten
How do you manage your stress levels in daily life? Do you use music / art / dance, etc. as a coping tool? Are there other things that you do to live mindfully?
When I’m super stressed out I just meditate and do some yoga, and chant mantras, that always helps the best since it gets me grounded again. If I have some free time I like to just lounge on the couch and watch Sunny in Philadelphia. When I have a free weekend I try and just hang out with my friends and just sit around, I don’t really do anything to crazy
How do you find a work-life balance — as a woman, relationships, a professional — what are keys to balance? Other thoughts / reflections?

Anytime I have free time I try and hang out with my closest friends or my puppy, I’m a night owl so if I have time during the day I like to just watch TV and walk my dog, if I have a free night I like to go to a friend’s house and just kick it, when it comes to intimate relationships it gets a little hard. I’ve noticed a lot of men that like to try and befriend me just to sleep with me and it’s sad, I try to weasel them out anyways. Right now I started something casual with someone which is really nice because I can just feel comfortable instead of thinking they just want sex.

  1. I saw the Alpha House (sorority sex house). It was passable then all of a sudden Sam Aotaki made her entrance. Besides being beautiful she is attractive in the sense that she draws you into paying full attention to what she is doing. She just seems like a natural. After making her first entry I kept waitomg for more of her appearances in that movie. In my opinion, she stole the show.

When Sam aotaki walked into alpha house, the movie (which was good regardless) became way better! And at only three years older than me, she’s all the more reason I wish I lived in California
