Four Reasons Why Online Revenge Isn't Worth It

The Internet is becoming a cesspool of negativity. Rants, curses and cyber backstabbing are common sights for web users nowadays. Needless to say, there are also those who seek revenge from people who hurt them through the use of the Internet.

If you’re going through the above mentioned scenario right now then I strongly recommend that you reconsider your decision before hitting that “Enter” button. Here are four reasons why online revenge isn’t just worth it.

*You further complicate the situation
The great Confucius once said that you should dig two graves before embarking on a journey of revenge. Getting even isn’t going to give you peace of mind. It’s only going to continue feeding the anger and sadness you’re going through right now.

By seeking revenge, you’re going to prioritize thinking of devious schemes instead of focusing more on happy thoughts. The evil scenarios that you’ve been playing on your mind will cause stress that will surely take its toll on your psyche and physique in the long run.

*You prolong the problem instead of solving it
Seeking revenge is only going to force you to remember the hurtful things that have been said between you and the aggressor. Instead of just being the better man/woman in the situation, you entertain a meaningless battle that isn’t going to yield anything good.

There’s no beauty in recalling the words and images that caused you pain. You won’t be able to move on unless you give up your plans of getting even.

*People who aren’t originally involved will join in
Web users, by nature, are nosy. They will try to dabble their hands on things that don’t concern them and your quest for vendetta serves as the perfect avenue for that. In short, you’re going to be the attraction and entertainment of the month and your story will more likely be the laughing stock of the Internet for quite a while.

Furthermore, rest assured that you’re going to encounter know-it-alls who are going to pitch in the quarrel, in hopes of feeding fuel to the fire. Total strangers will pop out left and right and the words they bring will be far from pretty.

*In the end, everybody loses
Are you really going to win when all has been said and done? Are you expecting some sort of trophy or maybe you’re waiting for the netizens’ approval?Revenge isn’t going to win you anything. Thus, there’s no point in actually getting it.

Everybody loses when all has been said and done. You step down to the aggressor’s level and he/she gets hurt too. At the end of the day, there are no winners, only fools who tried to prove themselves superior over one another.

Why not kill your “enemy” with kindness? Yes, he/she might not accept it right away but at least you’ll be able to sleep easier, knowing that you’re no longer harboring any ill feelings inside of you. Nothing good will ever come out of revenge for you will only make the pain linger longer.
