Please tell us about yourself and what you do?
My names Elisabetha Rosnowski but I like to go by Lizzie. I’m the lead singer for my band Lost in Atlantis.

How did you get involved with Lost in Atlantis?

Eric (guitarist) and I were previously in a band together. After we both left the band we decided to start our own. At the time the band was actually called Amorous Heart. Not many people know that. We soon changed the name because we felt Amorous Heart didn’t represent the sound and image we envisioned.

Have you been singing your entire life?

It seems like it! I’ve also been involved with arts and music my entire life. I actually started in drama and dance when I was in the 4th grade until my teacher told me I should consider singing because she liked my voice.
I am both a singer and a voice teacher and I believe wholeheartedly that there is a connection to our voice and to “using our voice” as a way to speak up, speak out and make a difference.  I’m curious how you feel empowered to “use your voice” (on stage, off the stage and in your life).
It’s truly a blessing to have so many kids look up to me. I try to be the best role model to them because they’re looking for inspiration and people to look up to. Having the ability to express myself on and off stage is amazing. The ability to shares passion and love for music with others is so empowering and fulfilling. I use “my voice” by sending inspirational and empowering messages to our audience. I try to instill a sense of perseverance especially after all of the obstacles our band has faced throughout the years (2 major tour accidents). The “Nothing Can Stop Us” tour is all about following your dreams and never giving up!
The #RealDeal site is all about evolving a healthy body esteem and also healthy coping strategies using the arts. How would you rate your body image?  Are you able to manage a healthy sense of body image and body esteem (if so, HOW)?  Have you found a way to “not” judge yourself when others (agents, audience members, producers, etc.) “judge” you based on outward measures or appearances? How do you stay sane in a world that is unbalanced and chaotic?
I don’t think I’ve ever “rated” my body image. I am who I am and that’s perfectly fine for me. I’ve take pride in being confident with myself and my personality. I think that it shows on stage when I perform too. I’m not saying that I’ve never felt insecure. We’ve all had those moments, however insecurity can turn into something positive if you work on your mental and physical state of mind. How do I stay sane? By staying humble and level headed. I’m so super appreciative of all of the love and support we get from our amazing fans from all over the world!
Who are some extraordinary female role models in your life?
My mother is the strongest female role in my life. She’s always working hard, maintaining two jobs so she can provide the best medical insurance for my dad and I. My mother is my best friend and my guardian angel. She’s instilled perseverance in me and has thought me how to love myself and others. She’s always generous and kind to those in need and that’s why she’s my model.
What do you define as beautiful?
Beautiful is defined differently for everyone. I personally find beauty in the small joys of life. Someone’s smile back to me, even a small gesture like helping others can be defined as being beautiful. I view beauty as life.
How do you define inner beauty?
Being happy with yourself. Inner beauty is about knowing who you are and accepting yourself. You were born this way! Embrace your inner beauty. If you do so will the rest of the world!

What is happiness?

If you are healthy physically and mentally then I think a person can find happiness in the smallest things this world has to offer. I find happiness in seeing or fans sing back the lyrics to our songs. I find happiness when my dog cuddles up to me in bed.
Would you be willing to take the Real Deal pledge?  Thoughts about that?

I 100 percent pledge to the Real Deal Pledge! I’ve been following those steps my whole life and will continue to stand by them!

How do you manage your stress levels in daily life?  Do you use music / art / dance, singing, your voice, etc. as a coping tool?  Are there other things that you do to find balance?
I’m always try to stay positive so even in the worst situations I say “don’t worry everything’s going to be okay”. Even when I see others stressing over a matter I like to give them a hug and talk to them, I find out if there’s anything I can do to help them.

Our nonprofit is all about building mental fitness in youth to prevent onset of illnesses like eating disorders and addictions.  Do you think “mental fitness” is important?  Why should people care about mental fitness?
I absolutely believe that our youth today should embrace the idea of being mentally fit! Seeing kids think they don’t fit the “norms” of society is sad and unjust! Our youth need to learn their value and how beautiful they are. Being mentally fit can be passed on to many generations to come.
