Use Your Voice to End Political Bullying of Women
Yesterday The New York Times printed that Republicans approved platform language calling for a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion with no explicit exceptions for cases of rape or incest.
What does this mean for women?
According to Republicans: Our lives are not valued, our voices not respected, our choices are not our own.
It also means that we are a very strategic political pawn in the race for the White House. Make no mistake.
While politicians often use women’s issues to spur dialogue and to serve as incentive for voting, this is one of the first times in history since the decision of Roe vs. Wade that the strict anti-abortion issue of women’s rights has been brought this glaringly to the forefront.
For any woman, this is your opportunity to take a stand, use your voice and send a very strong message that political bullying of women is NOT acceptable.
Stand up to the Republican party by voting. It is NOT okay that the lives of women are not valued. It is NOT okay that the Republicans view that “the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed” — this means that:
even in the case of the mother facing serious health complications or death, an abortion would not be legal.
In the Republican’s ultra conservative and extreme view, women should be left to die in order to carry their child.
Republicans in America are clearly saying that WOMEN ARE NOT OF VALUE.
WE MUST TAKE A STAND.
Use Your Voice.
