Padded bras & pole dancing kits for girls pulled from stores
Ahhh crap. Sometimes I hate writing about this stuff. Seriously, when story tips like this come in I just wonder what the hell is going on in this world.
Primark, a department store in the UK pulled the padded bra collection for 7 YEAR OLD GIRLS after receiving pressure from various groups including Mumsnet. The company apologized to its customers stating;
“For causing offense it would donate profits to a children’s charity.”
Whoop-de-doo! If they cared about kids they would have enough sense not to sell them women’s lingerie for god’s sake.
Other companies have pulled sexual-type products for children from the shelves as of late; dancing kit and Playboy stationery sets for girls, thanks to a mother of two who was appalled and took the time to say…umm, this is totally demented.
Here’s what the pole dancing kit suggests our girls do with their fancy-schmancy new toy;
“Unleash the sex kitten inside…simply extend the Peekaboo pole inside the tube, slip on the sexy tunes and away you go! “Soon you’ll be flaunting it to the world and earning a fortune in Peekaboo Dance Dollars”.
The £49.97 kit comprises a chrome pole extendable to 8ft 6ins, a ‘sexy dance garter’ and a DVD demonstrating suggestive dance moves.
There is just no excuse for this. These department stores have educated buyers that review and approve every single product that hits their shelves, doesn’t a bell go off in anyone’s head when these products are received?
You mean to tell me that this pink tube with a sex kitten in a bikini on the side just melds into the toy shelf with the Littlest Pet Shops and Polly in my pocket?
WTF x 100.
